Dear Friends,
As some of you may or may not know I am no longer playing with The Rockin' Bonnevilles. I am writing this letter to set the record straight on why, I owe you all at least that.
In early May I sustained a serious injury to my left arm while working out with weights. This injury required immediate attention. On May 22nd I underwent surgery to have my bicep tendon re-attached. I was told everything went fine and I was sure to be back in action again. Four days later I discovered I could not bend the tip of my left finger-and still cannot. This leaves me helpless to play in my normal fashion.
Even through weeks of physical therapy-nothing. The point of this letter mainly to say I was not ousted from the band because of this misfortune. Ted, Johnny, Chad and myself had discussed my departure months before this occured. Our plan was to play one more summer and go our separate ways.
This decision was not made out of anger, spite etc. We are all still friends, just no longer bandmates. This band was formed by myself in 1996 with Ted joining in 1997. In an age where the average life of a band is measured in mere months, 6 years is more than just a "good run" it's damn near a miracle. I consider it an honor to have shared the stage with these great musicians and listening to our past recordings can still bring a smile to my face. So with that I would like to say to you all Thank You for years of patronage and support, I hope someday I may be fortunate enough to entertain you all again. It was a gas.
Yours Truly,
Scotty Mac
P.S.- I will be at scttymc@aol.com until Nov.1st, drop me a line,it would be good to here from you Cheers
