Troy Public Library Celebrates Women's Health Care

The Troy Public Library is pleased to announce a program series on Women's Health to begin Saturday, March 15, 1997. The series will address a variety of health concerns facing women today. Each of the four parts of the series will be held in the meeting room at the Main Library, 100 Second Street in downtown Troy. All programs have been scheduled for Saturday mornings beginning at 11:00 am. Each session will last approximately an hour and a half. No admission will be charged but participants are asked to register for each session by calling the library at 274-7071. Both men and women are invited to join.

Session I: Taking Charge of Your Health. Saturday, March 15, 1997 11:00am

Presenter: Judith Bowden RN, M.Ed., SACCE

Director of Community Education at Woman's Health Care Plus.

Health and wellness promotion can best be carried out by choosing a healthy lifestyle. Early detection saves lives. Having an advocate and being empowered to be a self advocate is important, especially in this time of managed care. This interactive workshop provides solutions.

Sessions II, III and IV will be held on April 12, April 26 and May 10 respectively. Please reserve these dates on your calendar. More information on these sessions and their topics will be provided in future newsletters.
