South Troy Safe Haven Numerous businesses throughout South Troy have agreed to participate in a Safe Haven program that is sponsored by the South Troy Neighborhood Watch Committee. An orange and black decal with a star in the center will be displayed in establishments throughout South Troy. Children in need of assistance from threatening situations can enter into these establishments where contact will be made to the proper authorities. Spring is just around the corner and in typical fashion, Christina O'Connell is gearing up getting volunteers to continue the clean up at Burden Pond. Christina has been organizing clean-ups for the past five years. Burden Pond was transformed from overgrown weeds and brush. Many passerby's didn't even know the falls were there. In the past two years, even the Canadian geese have found it again!! Last fall Christina along with volunteers planted tulip bulbs. She is also responsible for the nicely kept triangles at the bottom of Mill Street. Christina is always looking for volunteers to help with various clean-up tasks throughout the spring. Emerald Green residents, here is a perfect volunteer effort for your neighborhood. Please call her at 272-7483. In cooperation with Troy United Ink Corp., a not-for-profit corporation |
