Troy City Council Votes
Results of the City Council Regular Meeting
April, 1997
Citizens Recognized:
Recently the Human Resources Committee of the City
Council has begun to recognize and publicly award various citizens
for their outstanding efforts in making Troy a better place for
all of us to work and live in..
Marsha & Jack Keefe:
this couple enlivened vacant storefront windows with decorations
for the Victorian Stroll
Jane & Peter Stewart:
provided wreaths in downtown Troy for the third holiday season
in a row!
Christine O'Connell: has
cleaned up Burden Pond and Mill Street and surrounding areas for
several years, She is also responsible for the beautiful flowers
you see blossoming around the park!
Peter Grimm & Hannelore Wilfert:
have begun efforts to clean-up & revitalization Prospect Park.
They just currently started "Friends of Prospect Park",
a not for profit organization that will work to improve the Park
in the immediate and distant future.
Council Voting Results
Ordinances:
1 - 85 Ord. authorizing sale of various properties
to various owners which were taken by the City in foreclosure
(Debonis)
86 Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to execute an
agreement settling the Article 78 proceeding entitled "The
Enlarged City School District of Troy, New York v. the City of
Troy, et al." (Walsh)
87 Ord. amending the 1997 Troy Budget transferring
funds to facilitate the purchase of a used ambulance. (Walsh)
88 Ord. amending the 1997 Budget for the City of
Troy to create a new capital project entitled "Architectural
Assessment of Central Police Station and Police Court Building
at 51-55 State Street" in the capital project fund to support
architectural and engineering services and appropriating funds
from the contingency account (Walsh)
89 Ordinance amending the 1997 Budget for the City
of Troy to create a new capital project entitled "1996 Emergency
Disaster Work" in the capital project fund to support emergency
disaster work resulting from the 1996 January flood, and making
an appropriation thereto from the proceeds of an interfund transfer
and the Federal and State funds received for such purpose. (Walsh)
90 Ordinance amending the 1997 Budget for the City
of Troy to transfer funds to support a contractually negotiated
employee benefit related to uniforms of Bureau of Fire employees.

91 Ordinance approving settlement of certiorari proceedings
instituted by various property owners located in the City of Troy
and on the assessment roll of the City of Troy. (DeBonis)
