Hudson-Mohawk Industrial Gateway

An Industrial Heritage Institute for the Capital District of New York

We are currently in the final stages of planning the 1997 tour schedule which will run from June through October. Among the tours we are hoping to schedule are the following:

Bus tours:

  • The textile museum at Lowell, Mass.
  • Hudson Mohawk Urban Cultural Park
  • During peak foliage around the lakes Burden created to power his "Niagara of Water Wheels" (Crystal, Crooked, Glass and Burden Lakes).

Walking Tours:

  • Tiffany windows tours
  • Oakwood Cemetery
  • Poestenkill Gorge
  • Lighting in the 19th, 20th, 21st centuries
  • Downtown Saratoga architecture
  • Tour of stores with a history during the Riverfront Arts Festival
  • Simmons Machine Tools
  • Geier & Bluhm
  • Albany International

These are only a portion of our tour schedule which will be subject to change due to the workings on the final details. Call 274-5267 for more information and reservations.
