Sexual Assault Care Center

The Sexual Assault Care Center for Rensselaer County is seeking people interested in developing crisis intervention and counseling skills to work as hotline, office, and prevention education volunteers. We're offering a free, 35 hour comprehensive training course. The next cycle will be from July 21^st through July 25^th from 9am to 5pm. This will be a one week intensive summer program to be held at Samaritan Hospital.

The program is the only agency in the county to provide specialized services to sexual assault survivors, their family and friends. In addition to victim services, we provide outreach/prevention programs and professional training. The Troy Public Library is pleased to announce that it has reopened its Café in the Courtyard on Monday, June 9. Gianna Vilardi of G's Café at Hedley Park Place will be operating the Café this year with a wide variety of tasty sandwiches, hot and cold soups and great salads: all homemade fresh daily. The Café will also feature selected desserts and a daily lunch special beverages will include soft drinks, ice tea, spring water, and G's famous gourmet coffee. The Café in the Courtyard will be open daily from 11am to 2pm in the courtyard of the Main Library at 100 Second Street in downtown Troy.
