In Memory of Kenneth P. LaCorte Janette Kaddo Marino, President TUI A couple months ago after we decided to have the FRIENDraiser in an unfinished, unheated space at Hedley Park Place, the concerns for inclement weather were voiced and we knew there was a 50/50 chance of freezing cold weather or spring like weather. We needed to have some heat source available just in case it was too cold. Who ever thought March 12th would turn out to be one of the coldest and windiest nights of the season. Luckily, a good friend Jude Clemente suggested that I call LaCorte Companies Inc. I spoke directly to Ken LaCorte and he listened to my plea. He told me that things would be taken care of. True to his word, things were taken care of and our night went off without a hitch. But to our sorrow at the young age of forty-three, Ken LaCorte passed away several days after our FRIENDraiser. I never had the opportunity or pleasure of meeting Ken in person, but his immediate response and his apparent commitment to the community was reflected in that one conversation and in the weeks that followed as his team of workers faced a couple of unexpected obstacles to provide heat for us. Ken, the time and resources that you have given to the community will not go unnoticed nor will they easily be forgotten. The Board of TUI express their sorrow and their condolences to the entire LaCorte family. Scholarship Fund at Hudson Valley Community College It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our Founder, Kenneth P. LaCorte. Ken leaves us all with a great sense of loss but with a legacy of tremendous commitment to his Family, business and pride and accomplishment in his professional life. The Family has received a tremendous outpouring of respect from the business community and is truly grateful of you support. As you all know, Ken and Eileen gave a great deal of their time and resources back to the Community. Therefore, Eileen LaCorte has established the KENNETH P. LACORTE Scholarship Fund at Hudson Valley Community College. The foundation will award 2 academic scholarships each here to students in both Electrical Construction & Maintenance and Technology Majors. Please send your contribution to: The Kenneth P.
