Wanted: Solutions for America Carole J. Hamner The Pew Partnership is inviting communities and organizations to apply for participation in Wanted: Solutions for America, a national initiative to document and disseminate what is working to strengthen communities. Over the next two years, the Pew Partnership will select 50 "21st-Century Solution Communities" to demonstrate how communities are meeting America's toughest challenges. Governmental, private and nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply.Wanted will recognize communities that have achieved impressive results ù keeping kids in school, creating jobs, reducing crime ù by fostering unique partnerships among organizations and individuals. We are seeking participation from communities of all sizes. The Pew Partnership, headquarters in Charlottesville, VA., is a research organization established six years ago to assist communities design, implement, and evaluate solutions to the nation's most intractable problems. The Pew Partnership is a special initiative of the Philadelphia-based philanthropy, The Pew Charitable Trusts.
