Community Development funds Just an idea for our leaders to ponder . . . Community Development funds could be put to good use by offering would-be entrepreneurs and retailers incentives to locate in the vacant storefronts downtown. Offering them rent-free space for a limited time, perhaps a year, and gradually increasing rent to market rates might be just the encouragement needed by people pondering a business startup. We hear lots of great ideas in our conversations around town -- we're sure you do, too. Share them with us, and we'll share them with the community.
