The ERC Community Warehouse How many of you have ever heard of the ERC Community Warehouse? Probably not too many... and we'd like to change that. The ERC Communitv Warehouse has been providing an invaluable service to the Capital Region since 1995. But we want to do even more, especially for our neighbors in Troy and other Rensselaer County communities. The Warehouse, a non-profit (501c-3) reuse center located in Hoosick Falls, was originally established as a project of the Eastern Rerrsselaer County Solid Waste Management Authority. Its mission is to divert reusable goods from the waste stream, while making those items available at low cost to those who need them, individuals, families, businesses and institutions can all benefit from the Community Warehouse in a number of ways. How? First, by using the Warehouse as an outlet for reusable materials, from old furniture, housewares and appliances to office equipment, sporting goods and building materials. If they are in working condition, many of these items don't need to be wasted; they can be donated to the Community Warehouse instead. As a donor, you will benefit by avoiding waste disposal fees and earning a tax deduction for your donation. You will also enjoy the satisfaction that comes from conserving resources and protecting the environment. Whether you donate materials to the Warehouse or not, you have access to hundreds of low cost items that pass through its doors. Used goods cost significantly less than comparable new items, and many are of exceptional quality. Whether you are moving into your first apartment, starting a new business, fixing up a summer camp, or simply appreciate the inherent value found in many pre-owned products, you will want to stop by the Community Warehouse. The Warehouse is especially interested in expanding its outreach to non-profit groups, small businesses and others in need of low cost goods, If you or someone you know fits that category, we hope you'll stop in. The Warehouse is located three miles north of Route 7 on Route 22 - less than 30 minutes from downtown Troy. We're open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 - 5:00, Thursdays from 10:00 - 6:00 and Saturdays from 9:00 - 4:00.
