Community Dispute Settlement Program at Troy Public Library 274-7071 A program entitled Mediation and Community Dispute Settlement will be presented on Thursday, May 6th at noon at Troy Public Library. Dawn Wallant, Director of Community Dispute Settlement in Troy, will explain how mediation provides the community with a forum to resolve such disputes as family conflicts, custody and visitation issues, landlord/tenant conflicts, employee's/employer conflicts, consumer/merchant disputes, and neighborhood disputes. Through the process of mediation, people involved in a dispute to work out their differences and negotiate a binding, mutually satisfactory agreement. Mediation is free or low cost, voluntary, and confidential. This program will describe how it works. Special programs and training offered by Community Dispute Settlement, including divorce mediation, special education/early intervention mediation, and new and used car lemon law arbitration will also be described.
