Junior Museum May Activities

The Junior Museum will sponsor the following activities throughout the month of May 1999. Most activities are included in the regular cost of admission. Admission is $3 per person during the week, $4 per person on weekends, holidays, and during school breaks. Children under age two and Museum members are admitted free. The Junior Museum located at 282 Fifth Ave., Troy, is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 5pm.

Family Fun Activity: Butterfly Mobile
Get your summer off to a flyin' start with a butterfly mobile!
May 8, 1999 / 11am
Performance: Teddy Bear Jamboree
Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy Bring your big bears, little bears, old bears, and young bears to hear singer-songwriter Gary Rosen perform his award-winning songs. Gary delights children from ages 2 to 9 with his lively concerts featuring a variety of musical styles ranging from rock-n-roll to gentle ballads and Caribbean rhythms. His songs are about "a celebration and a sharing" for kids and parents. Tickets are $5 per person. Contact The Museum at 235-2120 for more information.

Family Fun Activity: Tissue Paper Flowers
Bring mom to the museum and make her a special flower for her special day. (Included with the regular price of admission.) * Special for Mother's Day - Moms, grandmoms, godmothers, and aunts get in free Mother's Day Weekend.
May 15 and 16, 1999 / 1pm - 4pm On-Going
Family Fun Activity: Make Your Own Binoculars
Help us recycle as you use everyday materials to create your very own binoculars to explore in the museum and outside.

Performance: Laura Ingalls Wilder: Growing Up On The Prairie by the
ArtsPower National Touring Company Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy Recommended for grades pre-K to 6
Laura's life on the prairie couldn't be better...fishin' with pa, catchin' prairie gophers, and diggin' for worms. If only she didn't have to go to school, life would be perfect, or would it? ArtsPower's musical gem highlights the adventures of the Ingalls family as they cross America's heartland and captures the pioneering spirit in all of us. Tickets are $5 per person. Family Fun Activity: Thumbprint Animals
Thumbs up! Create a parade of animals using your thumbprint and your creativity.
May 29 and 30, 1999 / Noon - 5pm
Super Science Spectacular: Nutrition sponsored by Blue Cross/Blue Shield
Come explore your body through the Museum's exhibits. Learn about what happens to what you eat at our Super Science Spectacular.
May 31, 1999 / Noon - 5pm
* Special hours. Museum open for Memorial Day Holiday. (Holiday admission $4 per person, under two free.)
