Junior Museum - Summer 1999

The Junior Museum will sponsor the following activities throughout July and August 1999. A new Summer Science Series has been added for four weeks beginning July 19. Most family fun activities are included in the regular cost of admission. unless otherwise noted. Admission is $4 per person throughout the summer. Children under age two and Museum members are admitted free. The Junior Museum located at 282 Fifth Ave., Troy, is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 5 pm.

Fashion your very own bird from an ordinary muffin cup. Be creative and have fun turning it into a feathery friend.

Family Fun Activity: Oil Slick Paper Oil will not mix with water, when it is spilled in our oceans, it is a problem for both people and animals. Make your own "oil slicks" to demonstrate this principal.

Summer Science Series at The Junior Museum

Why settle for just another day at the pool? Learn about your world at the Junior Museum Summer Science Series. In our weekly programs beginning July 19, you'll learn about everything from "grossology" to zoology, from droughts to rainforests. Each week, you will:

  • discover the world around you using the museum's exhibits and live animals
  • create something to take home every day
  • learn about animals, the various biomes, and more!

You can sign up for any combination of programs. Programs are broken down into groups by age -- ages 4 - 7 and ages 8 - 12. Classes run from 9am to noon, Mon. through Fri. Each weekly session costs just $75 ($50 for members.) with discounts for multiple programs. Why soak in the pool when you can soak up some real knowledge?
