HVCC Awarded $481k Grant to Improve Access to Career Programs

Hudson Valley Community College has won a $481,000 federal grant that it will use to improve the public's access to its vocation and technical education programs during the 1999-2000 academic year. The grant will be used to help disabled and poor people, displaced homemakers, single parents, and people with limited knowledge of English to take advantage of HVCC's career-oriented programs that can help these populations make the jump into the area's workforce.

The money will be used for day care, accommodations for the physically handicapped, financial aid preparation, refresher courses, and an intensive science review course for students entering health-related programs.
